Pediatric Massage - (6-10yrs)
RMT- Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage
Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage is a specialized type of massage therapy that focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system to promote the removal of excess fluid and toxins from the body.
This type of massage is commonly used to address conditions such as lymphedema (a condition where lymphatic fluid accumulates in the tissues), cellulite, general fluid retention and after plastic surgery or other surgical procedures. It can also be used for relaxation and stress relief.
The massage therapist uses gentle, rhythmic, and circular motions with their hands, fingers, or specialized tools to stimulate the lymphatic vessels just beneath the skin's surface. The strokes are typically very light to avoid causing discomfort or bruising.
A series of sessions is usually recommended to achieve optimal results, and the number of sessions required can vary depending on the individual's needs and goals.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a type of therapy that uses movements to help heal injuries and alleviate chronic health conditions. Physiotherapists use manual therapy, which is based on a high standard of research, to move you in order to heal the injury or condition. They can also be helpful for people with chronic health issues.
Physiotherapy helps you restore, maintain and maximize your body strength, function, and movement. Physiotherapists treat your muscles, bones and joints through carefully selected motions and stretches. They have in-depth knowledge of how the body works and specialized skills to assess, diagnose, and treat symptoms of illness, injury and disability.
Physiotherapy includes rehabilitation, prevention of injury & disability, managing acute & chronic conditions, and the improvement & maintenance of optimal physical performance. Physiotherapists also promote health and fitness, and educate patients on preventing the re-occurrence of an injury.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic is an evidence based, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the musculoskeletal system. The musculoskeletal system supports your weight, provides physical stability, enables you to move your body and protects your vital organs. Chiropractors practice primarily using their hands, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints. They manipulate the body’s alignment to relieve pain and improve function and to help the body heal itself.
As a holistic and alternative treatment approach, chiropractic adjustments can reduce stress placed on your immune system, freeing up energy to be used towards disease prevention and maintaining homeostasis. Chiropractic care aims to address the whole body, enhancing patient’s ability to think, move and perform.
Chiropractic- Pediatric
Chiropractic care for pediatrics is a specialized branch of care focused on the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and nervous system conditions in infants and children. It is designed to support overall health, proper spinal development, and nervous system function through gentle, non-invasive adjustments.
Manual Osteopathy
**Please check with your insurance company which Associations they accept prior to making an appointment.**
**We currently do not accept prenatal or pediatric clients.**
**All clients must wear loose clothing to all appointments.**
Manual Osteopathy is a holistic, non-invasive, and drug-free form of hands-on therapy. The primary focus is the musculoskeletal system (muscles, fascia, ligaments and joints), organs, and the central nervous system. Instead of focusing solely on the problem area, Manual Osteopaths treat the root cause of pain. Typical treatments focus on the joints, muscle, and spine with the end goal of treating the body’s nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems. They also return balance to the musculoskeletal, cranial, cardiovascular, visceral and neurological systems of the body.
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a system that uses natural remedies to help the body heal itself. It embraces many therapies. The goal of naturopathy is to treat the whole person- mind, body and spirit. It also aims to heal the root causes of an illness, not just the symptoms. Naturopathic medicine focuses on education and prevention. The doctor may give you diet, exercise or stress management tips. In addition to naturopathic treatments, they might use complementary medicine, such as:
• Western Botanical Medicine
• Ayurvedic Medicine
• Unani Medicine
• Traditional Chinese Medicine
• Bach Flower Remedies
• Homeopathy
• Clinical Nutrition
• Gem Therapy
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a popular method that is known to be helpful in balancing energy flow or qi and chi. These are believed to be flowing via pathways or meridians in the body. The principle that is followed is that needles are put into particular points in the body along the meridians. This method will then re-balance energy flow in the body.
The acupuncturist will stimulate accurate points along the skin of the body using ultra-thin needles to release stress and decrease pain. You may experience a sense of relaxation during your treatment or minimal discomfort due to feelings of heat, aching or heaviness around where the needle was inserted.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a focused pressure technique that uses the thumb and finger and combines it with massage, relaxation, and joint mobilization techniques which targets the thousands of nerve endings in each foot. There are zones and reflexes in the body that are relative to all parts, glands and organs that the body corresponds to.
Reflexology can be used to restore and sustain the body’s natural balance and enable healing.
The Reflexologist can distinguish tiny deposits and imbalances and by working on these points (internal organs, glands, muscle groups, bones, and nerves), they can release these blockages.
Orthotics
More than just a heel pad or shoe insert, orthotics can be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. They are a customized shoe or heel insert made for your specific feet. Orthotics can help with correcting foot deformities, helping the foot or ankle to function better, provide support to the ankle, and help reduce the risks for further injuries.
A client must undergo a Chiropractic Initial Assessment prior to receiving orthotics. This ensures that any structural or biomechanical issues are identified and addressed before orthotics are prescribed.
*A doctor's note is required if submitting to your insurance company.
**Check with your insurance company if they allow for orthotics to be *DISPENSED by a Chiropractor.*
50% deposit is required after the Assessment and the remaining 50% is required when the Orthotics come in.
